<h3 id="rI">Ingredients:</h3>
<ul>
<li>1 1/2 cups plain breadcrumbs</li>
<li>1/3 cup nonfat milk</li>
<li>1 medium onion, cut into large pieces</li>
<li>1 medium carrot, cut into fourths</li>
<li>1 8 ounce pack sliced mushrooms, finely chopped</li>
<li>2 cloves garlic</li>
<li>1 1/4 pounds 93 percent lean ground turkey</li>
<li>1/2 cup egg substitute</li>
<li>1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce</li>
<li>1/4 cup tomato ketchup</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="rP">Preparation:</h3>
<div>Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil wrap.Place breadcrumbs and milk in a small bowl, and allow to soak for a few minutes.</p>
<p>Place onion, carrots, and garlic cloves in a food processor with a grater attachment, or grate by hand. Transfer grated vegetables to a large bowl; add mushrooms.</p>
<p>Crumble ground turkey in with the grated vegetables. Add breadcrumb/milk mixture to the vegetable and turkey mixture. Stir well with a fork.</p>
<p>Add egg substitute, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Mix well with light fingers.</p>
<p>Divide mixture into two and form two loaves on the baking sheet, each about 7 x 4 inches.</p>
<p>Bake for 50 minutes to an hour. Remove from oven and check the internal temperature has reached 160 degrees F. Allow meatloaves to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Each loaf makes about 8 slices.</p>
<p><strong>Per slice: </strong>Calories 108, Calories from Fat 32, Total Fat 3.7g (sat 1g), Cholesterol 28mg, Sodium 193mg, Carbohydrate 10g, Fiber 0.8g, Protein 8.9g</p>

During the upcoming weekend celebrations, keep the liquid calories under control by choosing clear liquors over colored ones, avoiding drinks that look (and taste!) like desserts and chosing club soda over tonic. <p>Cut your chocolate in half. Use 1/2 a package of mini chocolate chips instead of a full package.</p>
<p>Use one cup of plain low fat yogurt in place of sour cream.</p>
<p>Try 3T of flaxseed for 1T of vegetable oil &#8230; and add in some healthy Omega 3&#8242;s at the same time!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As we&#8217;re full swing into this holiday season, we&#8217;re all enjoying time with friends and family and a whole lot of holiday food. By making some substitutions to holiday favorites, you can make your favorite holiday treats healthier and with less calories. I&#8217;ll be posting substitution ideas over the next couple of weeks. Here a few to try.</p>
<p>Use 1/2 cup of unsweetend apple sauce and 2 T. of oil in place of 1/2 cup of vegetable oil.</p>
<p>Use a 1/2 cup of oatmeal or crushed bran flakes in place of 1/2 cup breadcrumbs</p>
<p>Use 4 egg whites instead of 2 whole eggs</p>

<p>1 cup oat flour (ground oatmeal found in the health section of your grocery store)</p>
<p>2 scoops vanilla whey protein (look for a low sugar, low fat and low carb variety)</p>
<p>2 tsp cinnamon (heaping)</p>
<p>½ tsp baking soda</p>
<p>¼ tsp salt</p>
<p>1/8 tsp ground nutmeg</p>
<p>1/8 tsp allspice</p>
<p>4 egg whites</p>
<p>¾ cup Ideal (Xylitol &#8211; baking) or Splenda</p>
<p>2  4 oz. jars or packs of baby carrots (instead of shredded carrots)</p>
<p>1 4 oz. baby food jar of water</p>
<p>1 cup quick cooking oats (optional for added carbs and energy)</p>
<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray an  8 x 8 pyrex dish with non-stick butter spray.</p>
<p>In a large bowl, combine flour, protein, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and allspice.</p>
<p>In a medium bowl, mix egg whites, sweetner, water and baby food until well combined.  Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture and mix well.  Finally, fold in the quick cooking oats (optional) and stir until just combined.</p>
<p>Pour batter into the pyrex dish and spread evenly.  Bake 28 &#8211; 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.  Let cool and cut into 16 pieces – 4 x 4.</p>
